Optimising oil and gas production with FourPhase's multiphase metering and desanders: A Holistic Approach

Multiphase metering can transform the production process and deliver immediate advantages for operators. Any number of production streams can be analysed in real-time for all 4 phases: Oil, gas, water and sand, giving operators a reliable snapshot of streams, and the raw data they need for planning optimal production flow.
A shift from test separators to streamlined measurements
Platforms are equipped with test separators that analyse the production flow composition for each well in turn for a given period. For platforms producing from any number of wells simultaneously, this results in a time-intensive schedule of rerouting one well after the other to the test separator.

Our new multiphase meters, however, revolutionise this approach. Multiphase meters are installed before the production manifold, allowing individual measurement of the well without the need for routing through the test separator during well start-up and optimisation. This saves time-consuming rerouting procedures and frees capacity on the test separator. In some cases, test separators can even be eliminated, saving on deck space and reducing potential points of failure or the need for mobilisation.

By producing sand to the surface wells have become more permeable, allowing for higher production levels.

Two cases of test measurements on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) and the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) underscore the reliability and effectiveness of our multiphase meters in real-world operational environments, as this case study proves.

Our Roxar 2600 multiphase meters from Emerson find their sweet spots in wells where operators have limited data but require a swift assessment of the production flow. This is particularly relevant for shut-in or choked-back wells, where the ability to read phases and sand content during start-up is invaluable. FourPhase aims to aid operators in reviving production and maximizing the utilization of existing resources, also during well intervention operations. With the MPFM implemented we can offer our customers with extended data sets.
